I grew up on a cattle property just south of the Burdekin and was lucky enough to have a fresh water creek running just behindthe house.
My father being an avid fisho we spent every spare minute trying to catch Barras, Black bream (sooty grunter), tarpon, archer fish, perch and not to forget cat fish. One of my fondest memories on the station was the day my old man hooked and landed a 24lb Barra on a $20 K-mart rod, reel and lure. That was the time that made me believe anything was possible.
I moved up to Weipa to do a Boilermaker apprenticeship in 1986, to say I was spoilt with fishing options back then would be an under statement. We could walk down to the boat ramp and throw a lure and on most arvo's be able to catch some sort of salt water species whether it be queenfish, travely, salmon, barra, mangrove jack, yep spoilt.
Back in those days there were hundreds of spots to go camping and fishing and you would be the only ones there. Now living in the Burdekin, I spent most of my fishing days throwing lures for Jacks and Barras in both fresh and salt water. Anyone who has had the pleasure of catching a one of these good size fish and having them trying to drag you out of the boat and into it's home, It's great. The last couple of years have also seen me testing my wit against those bastard dam barras. Just when you think you've got them all worked out, everything changes. (work in progress).
The Buzzmasters have opened up a whole new top water fishing option and have been performing well in the short time I've been using them. (never got paid to say that).

I was born in Canada and teethed my fishing ability on Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass of the freshwater lakes of Ontario. Arrive in "Oz" in 1980 and wondered if anything could live in that funny salty tasting water.
Well that was the past and now I enjoy fishing up and down the eastcoast of Australia for Bream and Bass on light sports tackle. Dream scenario for me regarding bream would be an early misty morning flicking a hard body lure next to a tray of oyster racks in 12inches of water. Six pound leader and a 4lb braid slowly pumping the hard body back along the edge of a rack only to have a 2kg bream dash out and smash it and rip it back under the rack. Welcome to do or die hell! Bass well Nothing beats the surface explosion as a bass takes a lure off the top!!!
Being 30 minutes from the mighty Hawkesbury, the beautiful Sydney harbour and the winding bends of the Georges river, NSW allows me opportunities to fish all styles and techniques in my own backyard. In 2004, along with two mates, I established the largest bream and bass club in Sydney (www.wsbb.com.au). With over 200 members to date this platform allows me to pass on the enjoyment of bream sportsfishing to many others, not to mention having a constant excuse to be out on the water.
I am a strong practitioner of catch and release and a lover of all artificial's fishing be it soft plastics, hard bodies or fly. My sponsors consist of Stratos Boats, Sportsfishing Boats Australia, Bob Halliday Mercury, Jiggy Jigs.Com and of course am now a proud member of Team Dreamfish.

I grew up in Western Sydney and honed my angling skills on the Nepean River by walking the banks targeting any likely looking fish holding structure. Bass fishing began for me, some 20 years ago, spending every weekend harassing the local Bass population with hardbody lures and the occasional fly fishing mission.
My angling passion has taken me all over the country chasing Australia's premier sportsfish in both Fresh and Salt water. Some of my more memorable trips are those involving good mates, bush camping and quality fish.
These days, I’m equally at home fishing the sweetwater in my kayak, patrolling the weedbanks in the dams waiting for the surface bite to switch on or walking the salt flats in search of Flathead 'with an odd Bass tournament or 2 thrown into the mix.
Tournament fishing is the one area that I am very keen to persue as my skills and knowledge increase.

My love of fishing began as a kid chasing bream, flathead and whiting with my father on the Hawkesbury River. A passion was born that would last a lifetime.
Married and settled in South Penrith 14 years ago, living 3 minutes away from the Nepean river my baptism to bass was an exiting new direction for my passion. Targeting the bronze battlers so close to home was icing on the cake.
Changing with the times I returned to the saltwater targeting bream on plastics and lures to revisit some of my childhood haunts. Around the same time big impoundment bass tempted me to dams in the Hunter area.
Four years ago my myself with 2 good mates started Western Sydney Bream and Bass fishing club., a great challenge and another part of my passion. Chasing hard fighting bass and bruising bream on light tackle is the sportsfishing that I thrive on. Whether it be a late afternoon kayak session on a tranquil creek or running big water in the boat to get to prime spots.
Presently my fishing time is divided between outings with my 9 yo son and my father, club events and competing in bream and bass tournaments on the east coast, one of which is the Bream Classic grand final on the Clarence river later this year, representing Team Dreamfish...

Living on the Far North Coast of NSW gives me access to some of the best wild bass rivers in Australia. The Clarence, Mann and Nymboida Rivers in particular are special favourites of mine. The fish they produce is often times exceptional.
I love the outdoors with a passion and the sport of bass fishing gives me the opportunity to enjoy my favourite pastimes of kayaking, bushwalking and photography. Freshwater fishing is all about the marvellous places it takes you and when not bass fishing, I like to chase trout on the New England Tablelands.
Chasing bass with surface lures is the ultimate rush for me. Nothing beats the heart stoping moment when a big bass smashes your lure off the top. The Dreamfish Buzzmasters have proven themselves worthy contenders in this field.
